About

Graig Wen’s self-catering cottages sit above the Mawddach Estuary near Dolgellau, within Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, offering a peaceful base for walking, cycling and reconnecting with nature. Set within a converted Victorian slate building, the cottages combine comfort with a low impact, eco-conscious approach, creating a relaxed “wild escape” close to the Mawddach Trail and the mountains beyond.

Guests can walk straight from the cottages through woodland and meadows onto the traffic-free Mawddach Trail, ideal for cycling, dog walks and exploring the coast between Dolgellau and Barmouth. The location also works well for mountain biking, hiking, wildlife watching, photography and stargazing. The cottages are dog friendly and particularly suit families during the school holidays, as well as outdoorsy couples looking for fresh air, calm surroundings and easy access to the landscapes of southern Eryri throughout the year.

Each cottage has its own character, with practical self-catering facilities and views across the estuary, woodland or mountains. Graig Wen offers a quieter style of stay, rooted in nature, sustainability and the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors. Check availability and start planning your Snowdonia escape.
