Whether your definition of active is a short stroll with a pub at the end, or a long-distance cycle journey through some of the most beautiful, wild and remote landscapes you can ride.
Mid Wales has it all.
You’ll be very welcome at the Yamaha Off-Road Experience Welcome Centre in the Cambrian Mountains near Llanidloes. The business is run by former 10-time British Enduro champion Geraint Jones, his wife Jane and their sons Rowan and Dylan, who are also both former British Enduro champions.
All our businesses are here to help you get the most out of your trip. Try stand up paddleboarding, sailing or kayaking. The Mid Wales coastline has lots of water sports and outdoor activities to offer. Ditto for our lakes and rivers. Get wet, have fun.
You can hire a bike or bring your own with you.
Whether you're looking for challenging mountain bike trails or scenic cycle routes that won't leave you too out of breath, the landscapes and scenery of Mid Wales have long encouraged cyclists of all abilities to get on their bikes.
Mid Wales has the UK’s first dedicated mountain bike trail centre at Coed Y Brenin, which has gradually evolved from natural forest trails to the extensive network of all-weather routes you can enjoy today.
The Skills Park at Bwlch Nant yr Arian is a purpose-built track for mountain bikers to practice their technique or just warm up before hitting the longer trails which start from the visitor centre.
Organised cycling or mountain bike holidays are available throughout Mid Wales, with accommodation, luggage transported, bikes and equipment all included.
Many Mid Wales activity providers cater for groups of adults, families, stag & hen parties, corporate and school parties. Get in touch with them to discuss your requirements.
