Following the success of our Spring Open Day, we’re excited to welcome you back to CAT for another day packed with inspiring activities for all ages.

Explore hands-on workshops, family-friendly tours, and interactive displays covering everything from green building and renewable energy to ecology, food growing, and sustainable living.

Whether you’re a local looking for a fun day out, a long-time supporter, or someone curious to learn more about sustainable solutions, we’d love to see you there.

Enjoy delicious food from CAT’s vegetarian café throughout the day.

Pre-book your ticket below, or just come along and join us on the day. Please note that parking is limited. If you’re coming by car, please arrive early to secure a space.

Please note: Entry is via a 5-10 minute steep walk up from CAT’s bottom carpark. Disabled parking is available at the top of the hill.

The Centre for Alternative technology is ideally situated right in the heart of Mid Wales, just two hours by train from Birmingham International Airport and Train Station.

CAT is located three miles north of Machynlleth on the A487, look out for the brown signs. Free car parking at Visitor Centre. EV Car Charging point: Free to Cat Visitors - notify reception on arrival and they will assist you with the charging facilities.

Accessible by Public Transport: Machynlleth station is 3 miles away.
