Games and Puzzles in Mid Wales

When the weather drives you indoors, or when you just want something different, Mid Wales has a handful of places where you can test your wits and have some fun.

Escape rooms have arrived in Mid Wales, with puzzle-based adventures in converted buildings where your group has an hour to work through clues and challenges. Themes vary from historical Welsh legends to code-breaking scenarios.

Board game cafes and activity centres in the larger towns offer wet-weather options for families and groups. Some holiday parks and accommodation providers keep games rooms stocked with everything from pool tables to classic board games.

For something more active, geocaching routes criss-cross Mid Wales, using GPS to find hidden containers in forests, along river banks and on hilltops. It is a good way to give a walk extra purpose, especially with children.

Check local listings for seasonal pop-up activities, treasure trails through market towns and interactive challenges that run during school holidays.
