About

Llandysul, is an small town perched on the banks of the River Teifi that was a thriving centre of the textile industry in the 19th century. Iideally situated for exploring the varied and beautiful counties of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and the Brecon Beacons, it is almost equidistant from the larger towns of Cardigan, Carmarthen and Lampeter.

Today the town is famous for the salmon and sewin (sea trout) that are in the River Teifi, and also for the Gomerian Press. Gomer is the largest independent publisher in Wales and was founded by John David Lewis in 1892, it is still run by a descendent. Other famous names from Llandysul include the mother of Frank Lloyd Wright, Ann Lloyd Jones, and her brother, the famous Unitarian Preacher, Jenkin Lloyd Jones.

Other Llandysul attractions include the Paddlers Canoe Centre, the Welsh Harp Centre and the annual Llandysul Food Fair.
