About

In The Welsh Wind Distillery is an award-winning craft distillery, based in Tanygroes, just north of Cardigan on the west coast of Wales. Specialising in the production of premium spirits including gin and 100% Welsh whisky, the distillery houses a shop and offers gin-making and gin tasting experiences to visitors.

The 2-hour gin making experience begins with an introduction to the gin making process and botanicals and how to create a bespoke botanical profile for your gin. You will then operate one of the custom designed and made mini-stills, through the heads cut, collecting the heart of the run and blending with good Welsh water before tasting and bottling your very own gin.

If you prefer to get stuck into the gin that is distilled by the team at In the Welsh Wind, you can book in for a Gin Tasting experience. After a welcome G&T, you will be provided with samples, a tasting card and all the information you need to taste 3 Welsh gins. Once you have enjoyed all 3 samples on offer, a second G&T will be offered - choose from one of the gins you have sampled, or another gin from the range. The Gin Tasting experience includes a tour of the distillery and visitors are able to purchase more drinks once the tasting has ended, until the distillery closes at 5 p.m. Non-alcoholic tastings are available for those who cannot or do not wish to drink.

Gin Making and Gin Tasting Experiences are currently available by appointment only. Please call 01239 872300 for more information and to book in. We are closed on Sundays.

We are a working distillery with some public areas, including shop, lounge and gin lab. We currently take bookings for gin making and gin tasting experiences, which include a tour of the distillery with your host.
