The Corris Café at Corris Craft Centre. Enjoy fresh, local and seasonal produce used across the all day menu.

About

Corris Café is a relaxed, dog friendly, family friendly café at Corris Craft Centre near Machynlleth in southern Snowdonia. It is a handy place to stop for breakfast, lunch or coffee during a day out in the Corris valley, or as a break on journeys through Mid and North Wales.

The all‑day menu is built around Welsh ingredients and local recipes, with home cooked dishes, homemade soups served with fresh crusty bread, thick cut bacon baps, Welsh rarebit, cakes, bakes and biscuits. There is a good choice of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, plus proper coffee made by trained baristas, teas, indulgent hot chocolates and cold drinks. Free WiFi is available and you can sit inside or out.

Right next door, The Welsh Deli is stocked with jams, preserves, teas and coffees, chocolates, ciders, beers, wines, spirits, cheeses, honey, biscuits, cakes and more, all grown, reared or produced in Wales, many by local artisan producers. There are plenty of gift ideas plus food and drink hampers filled with Welsh treats, either ready made or created to order.

The café sits at the centre of Corris Craft Centre, home to 9 independent craft workshops and resident designer‑makers. Crafts include herbal lotions and remedies, Celtic and contemporary jewellery, pottery and smoking dragons, hand carved candles, natural forest furniture, flamework and glass sculptures, pet portraits, dog supplies, multi award‑winning Dyfi Distillery gin and, brand new for 2026, the Crafty Gamer. Many workshops welcome commissions and some offer hands‑on activities such as pottery painting, candle dipping, furniture building and crafty gaming opportunities.

Right beside the café are enjoyable vistior experiences: King Arthur's Labyrinth, a 2025 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award winner, is an underground storytelling adventure where you sail by boat through a cascading underground waterfall and into a world of myths, dragons, giants and battles linked to King Arthur. In the Welsh Legends Maze wonder through a living storybook where tales of giants, heroes and fairyfolk whisper from every leafly turn. Corris Mine Explorers, also a 2025 Travellers’ Choice winner and Best Experience / Activity in Mid Wales, offers guided explorations into the abandoned Braich Goch slate mine, worked from 1836 to 1970 and left as a virtual time capsule.
