About

Welcome to Capel Cartref, our spacious 'home from home' holiday accommodation that welcomes families, groups including children and dogs.

Capel Cartref is a large 5 bedroom holiday let with a secure garden and fast WIFI.  Our home accommodates groups and large families who love to explore the wonders of both South Wales and Mid Wales. The former chapel (Originally called Capel Newydd, meaning New Chapel), turned holiday home is situated in the heart of the valley next to a wide meandering River Twrch.

The exterior offers the comfort of a veranda and balcony that overlooks the river, which plays host to a variety of wildlife . The river views provide the perfect setting for heron, brown trout, dippers and the occasional kingfisher and otter. The garden to the holiday home is enclosed, ensuring a safe space for children and dogs.

Entrance through the front double doors of our holiday accommodation leads you to the ground floor which is all on one flat level offering, 2 double bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner, a lovely spacious lounge with vaulted ceiling, a wet room and a store room. The lounge has satellite TV and Blu Ray DVD Player, Amazon Fire Stick plus lots of room, spacious enough for large groups.  All ground floor doors are widened to allow for wheelchair accessibility.

Capel Cartref has been renovated to a 5 Bedroom house of high standard. It is currently graded as 4 star holiday let with www.visitwales.com and has 156 Reviews with www.tripadvisor.com, most of which are 5 star and some 4 star. Advertising on AirB&B has brought us 99 x 5 Star Reviews and 1 x 4 Star Review.  On Google we have 13 x 5 star reviews - as of May 2023 and as of June 2023 www.staysuniqueholidays.co.uk has it's first 2 reviews which are both 5 star..

The 1st floor is accessed via a staircase which leads to a gallery landing - a place to sit in peace. The 1st floor also includes 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room, 1 main bathroom, 1 main bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room, one private balcony (leading off main bedroom) which overlooks River Twrch.

Capel Cartref is situated on the border of Powys, and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacon National Park).
Within the surrounding area are beautiful scenic walks that can be accessed without a car. Crossing the river at the rear of the chapel and heading up the steps eventually leads you to farm land with accessible roads that lead to a beautiful forest, offering scenic views of the valley.
