About

Llyn Brenig is one of the most popular places to go walking in Conwy, north Wales. There are many walking routes to choose from, all with spectacular views.

Walking maps and suggested routes for all of the Walking Trails can be picked up from the visitor centre, which provides all the information and facilities that you will need to enjoy your day out, including a café overlooking the water.

TWO LAKES WALKING TRAIL
With views of the spectacular shoreline, the Two Lakes Walking Trail at Llyn Brenig is one not to be missed. Follow winding paths through the trees to the forest tracks. At 4.5 hours this walk isn’t for the faint hearted, but the sights and sounds of the lake and green spaces throughout are unforgettable.

LAKES CIRCULAR WALKING TRAIL
The best of both worlds! This moderate walking trail combines both the Brenig Walking Trail and Alwen Walking Trails, with some spectacular views to be found.

Did you know that during the construction of the lake, a number of Bronze Age artefacts were found. The site was used as a camp by Mesolithic hunter-gatherers. This has been dated by radiocarbon analysis of the charcoal from their fires to around 5700 BC. You can follow a number of archaeological trails, the relics visible include a ring cairn (a Bronze Age burial mound), and several barrows!

More designated walks ranging from ten mile 'round the lake walk to more leisurely themed trails are available from visitor centre.
