The Castle of Brecon Hotel

About

With the tower and walls of historic Brecon Castle located in its enclosed gardens, Brecon Castle Hotel is a heritage hotel of great charm and character. It first opened as a coaching inn in the late seventeenth century, becoming the first modern hotel of its kind in Wales in 1809. This Georgian hotel enjoys the best of both worlds being located in private grounds on a prominent hill in the centre of town but with beautiful views over the river Usk and up to Pen-y-Fan and The Brecon Beacon mountains. Privately owned, it combines a friendly atmosphere with efficient service. There is ample off-road car and coach parking. All bedrooms are en-suite and equipped with TV, internet, tea/coffee making facilities, radio and direct dial telephone. The Brecon hotel offers three types of bedroom, the best being the large south facing rooms with stunning views towards the Brecon Beacons mountains. Free WiFi in all public areas and bedrooms. Two miles from Cradoc golf course. Extensive conference and wedding facilities for up to 200 guests. Disabled access and disabled bedrooms.

The bar and residents lounge all of which face southwards towards the Beacons are ideal for relaxing in at the end of the day.

Check in time is from 3.00pm on the day of arrival. Early check- ins may be available on request subject to availability and we kindly ask you to vacate by 11.00am on the day of departure. Late check-ins can be arranged with prior notice. Our Reception office hours for telephone calls are from 7.00am until 11.00pm.

Food is served daily at the hotel from 12:00pm until 8:45pm.

The hotel can offer a range of outdoor leisure and sporting facilities including use of the hotel's own 2-berth canal boat on the Brecon Canal, Falconry days, golf at the nearby Cradoc golf course and driving range (voted the best golf course in Wales), fly-fishing with one of the country's top fly-fisherman, sailing or wind-surfing on Lake Langorse, guided mountain walks and horse-riding on the mountains.
