About

Photograph the jewels of RSPB Ynys-hir temperate Celtic rain forest, in our Pop-up Woodland Photography Hide.

The woodland stars include summer visitors such as the Pied Flycatcher, Redstarts, and warblers migrating from a winter in West Africa to breed in the oak woodlands along with our residents species.. Characteristic species of Atlantic Oak woodlands, their songs carry through the canopy in early spring.

At RSPB Ynys-hir enjoy this pop up hide to photograph these striking species, allowing exceptional images to be captured without disturbance to the Pied Flycatchers or other wildlife in the woodland.

RSPB Ynys-hir is not only beautiful, but also an inspiring demonstration of how nature and people can thrive together in this stunning landscape. Through practical conservation work, special habitats and wildlife are being reconnected, enhanced and conserved. The woodlands are alive with an impressive diversity of species. Your booking will contribute to the RSPB's continued conservation and enhancement of these important habitats, and the wildlife they support.

Upon arrival, a RSPB guide will meet you at the visitor Centre, before showing you the hide. Full arrival details will be provided upon booking.

**Please note, as with all wildlife their nesting success cannot be guaranteed but you will have the opportunity to experience our very special woodland.

The pop-up hide is suitable for one person; a chair is provided, you will need to bring your own tripod. Please wear suitable walking footwear and clothes for the weather. The hide is about a 15 minute walk from the car park and so due to the terrain not suitable for people with mobility issues. Hire of the hide cost £60 plus booking fee Hire period is 2.5 hours.
