About

Mid Wales Arts is a not-for-profit art centre near Caersws, Powys, set within a historic house, gardens and surrounding farmland. The centre brings together gallery spaces, a sculpture park and a café, with free entry.

You’ll find regularly changing exhibitions alongside a permanent collection of paintings, sculptures and enamel works, including pieces by Stefan Knapp. Outside, the sculpture trail features over 125 works set across the grounds, offering a gentle walk with plenty to explore. Workshops, classes and events run throughout the year, with opportunities to take part as well as browse.

Works of art on display are for sale, and include major artworks as well as less expensive items such as cards, prints and pots that make ideal gifts. Exhibiting artists also present events and workshops linked to their exhibitions.

It suits visitors looking for a relaxed, creative day out, whether you’re interested in art, a quiet walk or combining both. Refreshments are available on site, and you can explore at your own pace.

Check opening times and upcoming exhibitions before visiting.

In addition to the exhibitions there is a permanent collection of paintings, murals, enamels and sculptures by Stefan Knapp (1921-1996) representing his lifetime's achievement, with important pieces from 1942-1996.
