Across Mid Wales, a growing number of hotels, cottages, B&Bs and self catering properties have made real improvements to accessibility, not just a ramp at the door, but thought-through design that makes a stay comfortable.

Mid Wales is not flat, and some of the most enjoyable places to stay are on hillsides or along valleys. But there are accessible walking routes through forests at Bwlch Nant yr Arian near Aberystwyth, level paths along the Montgomery Canal, and boardwalk trails at nature reserves.
