About
Explore the story of Rhayader through time - from ancient origins to modern-day life.
Timescape Rhayader is a hands-on museum and experience space where history, people, and place come together. Set within the CARAD Centre, this exhibition brings to life the story of this Mid Wales community using art, sound, film, and real objects from the town’s past.
Visitors can trace Rhayader’s journey from prehistoric settlers and drovers to the creation of the Elan Valley dams. The displays reveal how people have lived, worked, and shaped the landscape across centuries.
