Details
Welcome to Cwm Rhaeadr or valley of the waterfall. This beautiful woodland jewel has something for everyone.
You can explore it using one of our riding routes walks, cycle trails or the all ability trail.
You can take longer walks, which takes you to dramatic waterfalls or stroll along the shorter Irfon Forest all ability trail passing ponds and the river Irfon. There is also a high-octane mountain biking trail here for experienced riders and a linear horse-riding route with great views! Or simply come for a picnic under Douglas fir trees - tables provided.
Cwm Rhaeadr has a range of delicate and beautiful wildflowers, from the bluebells in springtime to the mosses ferns and fungi, dragonflies are often seen on the ponds in late summer you may even be lucky enough to see the elusive pine marten and beautiful red kite on your visit.
The All Ability Trail is suitable for wheelchair users. It is three quarters of a mile long and its steepest gradient is 1/20. Please note: Sometimes we need to close or divert trails for your safety whilst we undertake maintenance work or forest operations. Occasionally we may have to close a site in extreme weather, such as high winds or snow and ice due to the risk of injury to visitors or staff. Please always follow any instructions onsite and make sure you follow any temporary diversion signs in place.
