About

Welshpool/Y Trallwng railway station is on the Cambrian Line from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth; most trains run from/to Birmingham International. The station is located at the south-east side of the town by the north end of the A483 by-pass; the postcode is SY21 7AZ.

The station is unstaffed; ticket machine, payphone. Live Departure screens. Car parking no charge for passengers - 40 spaces on the by-pass side of the station & 20 spaces on the industrial estate side; 2 cycle storage hoops.

The current station was built in conjunction with the Welshpool by-pass; the original main station building is now occupied by Edinburgh Woollen Mills. On leaving the station by the car park next to Edinburgh Woollen Mills, walk straight ahead for a few hundred yards to reach the town centre. For the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, take the same road, straight on at the traffic lights and continue through the town and up the hill until you reach the Railway’s new terminus at Raven Square by the roundabout at the junction with the A458 and the A490.
