The first Brecon Choir Festival takes place on the 22-24 July, showcasing some of Wales’ finest musical talent. Highlights include a Grand Concert with Aberhonddu & District and Dunvant Male Choirs, the latter in their 125th year.
Brecon Choir Festival is a brand new festival for 2022 with three days of exceptional music, showcasing some of Wales’ most established and upcoming talent.
This year’s Grand Concert will see Aberhonddu & District Male Choir joined by Dunvant Male Voice Choir, the longest continuously singing male voice choir in Wales. Other acts include Talgarth Male Choir, Brecon Singers, Brecon Cathedral Choir and Alive & Kickin' Community Choir.
Haydn James, conductor for the WRU will be conducting the Saturday night concert at Brecon Cathedral and three young rising stars from the singing world will perform at the Saturday lunch time & evening night concerts: Ceri Ellis, originally from Abergavenny who is studying at The Guildhall in London on Saturday lunchtime, Osian Clarke who is at The Royal College of Music in London and Lauren Williams who is at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Other highlights include a musical walking tour of the town on the Saturday and for the ‘afterglows’ on the Friday and Saturday evenings when we will have the chance to end the night in song!
