The region offers a wide choice of outdoor pursuits, leisure activities and sports events.

Why not try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, falconry experience or bird watching in one of the region's many nature reserves.  Relax and enjoy our rivers, reservoirs or coast with a day's fishing, or perhaps a leisurely round of golf with friends.

Walking, cycling or pony trekking in the hills is a great way to take in the stunning scenery. Walking and hiking trails can be found throughout the region including long distance national trails, Wales Coast Path of nature trails in and around one of the many Mid Wales' forests, lakes, canals or rivers.

Golfing in Mid Wales

Llandrindod Wells Golf Club

The course was designed by six times open champion Harry Vardon, and altered some years later by James Braid, to produce, essentially, the superb course of 18 challenging holes, almost 5800 yards in length (par 69), that you see today.

Fairbourne Golf Club

The Golf Club is a Community Project with a 1,000 yard hole par 3 course set in an idyllic location and open to the general public. It is challenging enough for the old hands, but not too daunting for beginners.

Cradoc Golf Club

A challenging parkland course near the handsome old market town of Brecon. Magnificent views of the Brecon Beacons from the ninth tee.

Parc Penrhos Golf Course

Parc Penrhos is a family owned leisure & holiday complex with hotel & holiday park accommodation, restaurant & golf club with immaculate 18 hole course & 9 hole academy course situated between Aberystwyth & Aberaeron.

Cardigan Golf Club

Cardigan Golf Club is one of the most startling of the unsung courses of Wales and is to be found high on a hill overlooking the Teifi Estuary at Gwbert, 2 miles from Cardigan.

Cilgwyn Golf Club

This nine-hole course sits in a secluded valley and is very picturesque. It's a flat parkland lay-out but the trees, ponds and streams give you plenty to think about as you try and plot your way around the course.

Builth Wells Golf Club

Picturesque, easy walking parkland golf course, 18 holes, a good golfing test for all abilities.

Welshpool Golf Course

Welshpool Golf Course was founded in 1929, but its history dates back to the late 19th-century. The course is 5846 yards / Par 70 and anyone who has ever played at Welshpool Golf Club will remember it as a great test of golf.

Horse Riding

Accredited Riding Centres in Mid Wales for all ages and abilities. Great riding in stunning coast and countryside with treks and hacks on waymarked trails to suit your experience.

Canoeing

Winding towards the sea the deep, tidal Teifi Gorge is a unique environment where fresh and salt waters meet and the species it is home to forms one of the most varied aquatic landscapes in the country.

Kayaking / Sea Kayaking

We are blessed with some of the most impressive coastline in the west. High cliffs, islands, caves and of course the resident dolphin pod makes our Sea Kayaking one of our firm favourite activities but we also do lessons in Kayaking.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)

Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is a sport originating in Hawaii as an off-shoot of surfing. They enable surfers to paddle farther into the ocean than is typical or to paddle standing up as a sport unto itself.

Surfing

Learn to surf at one of our local blue flag beaches with trained and experienced instructors. West Wales has some of the most consistent beach breaks in the country, so join us for an introduction to wave riding.

Tubing

Enjoy floating down the river Teifi in white water sitting in a big inflatable tube. Tubing is a fun adventure complete with adrenaline filled moments of white water along the way.

White Water Rafting

When the river levels increase, it’s time to blow up the raft and get some white water on falls up to grade 4. 10km of natural paddling on white and gently flowing water taking in the best drops on the Teifi.

Kayaking

Hire one of our kayaks to paddle around the bay. Book a taster session to give you some basic tips. Book on one of our escorted 2 hour tours.
