Beach Road,
Fairbourne,
Gwynedd,

Details

We are delighted to welcome to our gala a former Fairbourne locomotive almost lost to legend. Katie was built in 1896 by Sir Arthur Heywood to run at Eaton Hall near Chester. She led a nomadic existence before finishing her days at Fairbourne. Rescued from the dunes in 1974 her remains have been rebuilt at Ravenglass and she is appearing in steam at Fairbourne for the first time since 1926! Katie will be accompanied by other visiting engines, model displays etc. An intensive Special Timetable will operate on these days.
