Wales Artists' Book Fair 2025

About

Wales Artists' Book Fair 2025

Announcing the 3nd annual Wales Artists' Book Fair at Hafan yr Afon in Newtown!

This year we are back stronger than ever with 20 artists from all over the world! The fair will be running over the weekend of September 6/7 2024 and will include artists' stalls, some demonstrations and workshops.

This will coincide with the Newtown Food Festival, so there will be lots to see and do!

What are artists' books? They are book forms inspired and created by artists – A festival of books that are handcrafted, paper, fabric, sculpture, printed, drawn, stitched, small press, and artist led.

The Wales Artists' Book Fair will be upstairs at Hafan yr Afon in Newtown. Hafan yr Afon is a beautiful community centre and cafe located on the bank of the river Severn, next to the Back Lane car park. It is a green and welcoming gateway to Wales. The room upstairs is spacious and has disability access and is family and dog friendly. There will be places to relax and a balcony overlooking the park. https://www.hafanyrafon.com/

The event will again coincide with the Newtown Food Festival which will take place around the town hall grounds next to the venue! So this will ensure a good crowd for the fair. https://www.newtownfoodfestival.org.uk/home

The Artists' Book Fair will be focusing on individual artists, groups and small publishers who create high-quality artists' books using printmaking, textile or paper-based techniques. There will be lots of work on show, as well as work to buy!
