Mid Wales Opera at Powis Castle

About

We are delighted to welcome Mid Wales Opera for a very special summer evening of glorious music at Powis Castle and Garden.

The evening’s programme promises a wonderful array of songs, arias, and ensembles from the timeless masterpieces of Mozart, Bizet, Verdi, and Puccini to the sparkling melodies of Strauss and Lehár, and the golden age musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Traditional Welsh, English, and Italian favourites will also weave their way through this summer celebration.

Join us for a memorable night featuring soprano Mari Wyn Williams, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Afonwy-Jones, tenor Robyn Lyn Evans, and baritone Mark Nathan. They will be accompanied by virtuoso harpist Elfair Grug and MWO’s Music Director and pianist Jonathan Lyness.

This promises to be a magical evening not to be missed.

Meeting point: The performance takes place in the courtyard at 18:30. Gates will open at 18:00

What to bring and wear: Seats will be provided. This is an outdoor concert so please dress appropriately for the weather. Please refrain from bringing umbrellas, as they may obstruct the view for others.

Accessibility: There is a gradual uphill slope from the car park to the castle courtyard.

Other: The concert will be outdoors and will go ahead except in the event of extreme weather.
