About

Best Experience in Mid Wales (Mid Wales Tourism Awards) and awarded a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice Award 2024.
Explore the abandoned workings of an old Welsh slate mine with some of the best Mine Guides. Follow in the footsteps of Victorian slate miners with one of our expert guides.  You'll experience the broad tunnels and cavernous chambers where the world's finest slate was excavated by both hand and explosive, before being shipped around the world.

From the moment you step through a hidden door in the mountainside, you'll be immersed into a way of life and work which changed little throughout the mine's history.

Having barely been touched since the mine was abandoned in the 1970s, the countless awards and outstanding reviews of our trips explain how unmissable this authentic and fascinating experience is.

Corris Mine Explorers shares a site with Corris Caverns where you will also find the Corris Craft Centre and its 9 independent craft workshops, King Arthur's Labyrinth which is an underground storytelling adventure and the Welsh Legends Maze.  There is a great Cafe on site too where you can refuel either before or after your underground visit.
