Penbryn Beach

Penbryn is a large sandy beach backed by a dune system and cliffs. The beach is managed by the National Trust and is in a rural and unspoilt location with few facilities in the immediate area. The majority of the parking is a few hundred metres back up the valley at Penbryn village where there is a shop and cafe. A wider range of shops, cafes and pubs is available in nearby Aberporth. The beach is popular with surfers and kayakers as well as those seeking a quiet spot to relax or stroll.

The Wales Coast Path leads from the beach in both directions and offers stunning views across the bay. The coastline here falls with the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation and is home to an amazingly rich variety of marine animals and plants, from reef-building worms to bottlenose dolphins. The remote location and lack of light pollution make this an ideal spot for stargazing in the summer months.

DARK SKIES DISCOVERY SITE
Penbryn Beach is designated a Dark Skies Discovery Site. The National Trust Car Park is next to the beach and parking is free from Dusk until dawn.

Seaside Award beach. Café, toilets, parking at the top of the lane to the beach. Dogs not allowed May to end September.
