About

Step into the Welsh Legends Maze, right next to King Arthur's Labyrinth in Corris, Mid Wales and wander through a leafy outdoor maze where ancient stories of bards and fairy folk come to life. Follow the winding paths to meet intriguing characters and listen as they share their tales, all the way to a dramatic stone circle at the heart of the maze.

Along the way you will encounter the Fairy Lady of Llyn y Fan Fach at her moonlit lakeside, the Physicians of Myddfai and the chilling story of Changelings. Hear how Mair escaped her giant father Idwal, uncover March the Lord of Llyn's unusual secret, discover how John Gethin was tricked by the Devil, and learn what became of Blodeuwedd the flower maiden and Elidorws in the Fairy Kingdom.

Each character reveals themselves as you explore, with stories that are as enchanting as the pathways themselves. There are quests to try as you go, with a prize if you crack the clues. Dragon Quest is a gentle challenge for younger visitors, hunting for baby dragons with name tags. Bard's Quest is a medium-level trail, listening to the stories and answering questions. The Mabinogion Quest is trickier and more cryptic, ideal for older children, teens and adults who enjoy a puzzle.

The maze was designed by Steph Pasiewicz, whose previous work includes the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and Tim Burton's Frankenweenie. Created to work with nature, it is also a haven for native wildlife.

Gravel pathways may enable access for wheelchairs, prams and buggies, and dogs on leads are welcome to join the adventure. Once you are back in the real world, you can pass these stories on and help keep the Welsh legends alive.
