The Mill House at Original Hideaways, sleeps 10

About

Original Hideaways offers two beautifully converted farm buildings for holidays and short breaks in the Mid Wales countryside. Set within 10 acres of private land on a 150-acre working farm, it’s a peaceful place to slow down, enjoy time with friends or family, and explore the surrounding landscapes.

The Mill House

With five double en-suite bedrooms, The Mill House is spacious and full of character. The large kitchen, cosy living areas and gentle, natural tone of the interiors make it easy to unwind. Step outside to the apothecary garden, spend an evening around the fire pit, or wander through woodlands that begin right by your door.

The Hay Barn

Matching The Mill House in comfort and style, The Hay Barn also has five double en-suite bedrooms and generous living spaces. Its design blends traditional craftsmanship with modern comfort, creating a welcoming base for holidays, seasonal escapes or group gatherings.

Each property has its own fully equipped kitchen and access to shared outdoor spaces, including a meditation circle, yoga terrace, wood-fired sauna, and Argentine grill area for relaxed meals under the stars.

For a little extra

Guests staying at The Mill House or The Hay Barn have the option to use or add:

  • The Piggeries, a sociable dining area and bar.
  • The Grain Loft, a light-filled venue for group activities or celebrations.

These spaces can be booked together with the accommodation for larger groups, workshops or private events.

Explore Mid Wales

From your base at Original Hideaways, explore the market towns of Newtown and Llanidloes, or head into the Cambrian Mountains for long walks, wild swimming and country lanes that lead to friendly cafés and farm shops.

Booking your stay

The Mill House and The Hay Barn can be booked individually for short breaks or longer holidays, or together for larger groups. Minimum stay: two nights.
