N-Ex-T presents:
Silvan Schmid · Tom Wheatley · Eddie Prévost
+ support: Barry Bazmatronics Edwards (guitar) & Mark Hanslip (saxophone)

N-Ex-T (New Experimental Tones) returns to Hafan Yr Afon with a landmark evening of improvised music, bringing together three towering figures of the international free and experimental music scene.

Silvan Schmid (trumpet), Tom Wheatley (double bass) and Eddie Prévost (drums) form a trio rooted in deep listening, physical sound-making and real-time composition. Each is a distinctive voice in contemporary improvised music, and together they create performances that are raw, spacious, volatile and quietly profound.

Eddie Prévost — co-founder of the legendary AMM — is a central figure in European free improvisation, with decades of influence spanning music, philosophy and pedagogy. Trumpeter Silvan Schmid brings a fiercely physical, textural approach to sound, while Tom Wheatley's bass work anchors and disrupts in equal measure, moving fluidly between pulse, noise and resonance.

Their music unfolds moment by moment — attentive, unstable, and uncompromising — rewarding those willing to listen closely.
