Powys River Pods

About

Welcome to the river Find a slower pace of life at Powys River Pods. Our site sits directly on the banks of the River Irfon, just a short distance from the market town of Builth Wells. This is a place to switch off, listen to the water and enjoy the fresh air of Mid Wales. We offer a practical, comfortable alternative to camping, giving you all the connection to nature without the hassle of pitching a tent.

Comfort and privacy Our glamping pods are designed to be a proper home from home. Each unit is fully self-contained with its own en-suite bathroom and kitchenette, so you have everything you need for an easy self-catering stay. Inside, you will find a comfortable double bed and a double sofa bed, making our pods suitable for couples looking for a quiet retreat or small families wanting an outdoor adventure. We have kept things simple, warm and welcoming, ensuring you get a great night’s sleep after a day in the open air.

A haven for anglers and explorers The River Irfon is a beautiful spot for fishing, and guests are welcome to cast a line during their stay. If you prefer dry land, we are surrounded by excellent walking and cycling routes. Whether you are tackling the peaks of the nearby Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) or just taking the dog for a gentle stroll along the riverbank, you have endless choices right from your door. We are also popular with road cyclists and mountain bikers looking for a secure base to explore the area’s lanes and trails.

Dog-friendly glamping We know a holiday isn’t complete without your dog. Powys River Pods is a pet-friendly site, and we are always happy to welcome four-legged guests. The riverside location offers plenty of sniffing and exploring opportunities for your dog, while you enjoy the peace and quiet.

Local area We are located near Builth Wells in Powys, home to the Royal Welsh Showground. You are perfectly placed to explore the wider Mid Wales region, with its market towns, reservoirs and open landscapes. Whether you are here for a specific event or just to escape the noise of daily life, we look forward to welcoming you to the river.
