Ffynnonwen bell tent

About

Reconnect with nature in the heart of rural Wales at Ffynnonwen (pronounced Furnon Wen), 3 miles from Llangrannog beach. Off-grid camping & glamping, low-impact living and wild beauty. Dogs welcome.

  • Eco-Conscious Living: Solar power, compost loos and a low-plastic ethos.
  • Accommodation with Soul: Choose from our spacious camping pitches, authentic Mongolian yurt or cosy bell tents.
  • Rooted in Nature: Wake to birdsong, cook over fire, fall asleep under stars.

Mongolian Yurt

Escape to nature in our traditional Mongolian Yurt.

A secluded, off-grid hideaway prefect for an unforgettable yurt glamping experience for couples, solo adventurers or small families. And yes - your dog is welcome too!

Fall asleep under canvas to the sound of whispering trees, watch the stars from your private firepit and wake to birdsong with nothing but nature around you.

Our Yurt is fully equipped with (almost) everything you will need for your stay - just bring food, clothes and towels!

In the yurt is:

  • Double bed with bedding
  • A day bed that serves as a sofa in the day and 2 single beds at night (bedding provided)
  • Wood burning stove with all the fuel you might need, fire lighting materials and fire-guard
  • Pans, plates, cups, cutlery, cooking utensils etc
  • Small kitchenette with gas stove
  • A large cool box with ice packs
  • Solar lighting and candle lanterns
  • USB charging point and power bank for charging torches and devices
  • OS map of the area
  • Books and games

Outside the yurt is:

  • Picnic table
  • Firepit with chairs
  • Fresh herbs
  • Compost toilet with solar lighting
  • Drinking water

There is a hot shower, electric fridge and freezer available on the main site.

Bell Tents

Our two beautiful 5m Bell Tents are each set in their own private spaces, one in a meadow surrounded by wild flowering grasses, the other in an apple orchard with wild flowers and it's own dog friendly enclosure so your furry friends are free to explore!

Both our Bell Tents come with the essentials:

  • Double bed handcrafted from upcycled pallets, with Jay-Be eco mattress (bring your own bedding and pillows)
  • 2 single mattresses that can double as a sofa during the day if you wish (bring your own bedding and pillows)
  • 4 Floor cushions and a low level table made from upcycled cable reel
  • Rag rugs to keep you cosy and floor covering made from upcycled straws
  • Solar lighting and lanterns (you'll need a torch too to find your way to the loo!)
  • An outside camp kitchen with camping stove, gas, pans, plates, cups, cutlery, utensils, chopping board etc
  • Washing up bowl, tea towel, washing up liquid, cloths
  • Cool box and freezer blocks
  • Drinking water
  • Fire pit with grill (first bag of wood is on us!)
  • 4 Folding camping chairs
  • Picnic table and benches

There is a hot shower, compost toilets, wash-up facilities, fridge and freezer available on the main site.

Wild Meadow Camping

Slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature at our low-impact, off-grid campsite.

Nestled in the heart of nature, our small, family-friendly meadow offers a peaceful retreat - free from electric hook-ups, artificial light and noisy distractions.

Let the soundtrack be birdsong, the breeze through the trees and the gentle crackle of your campfire.

With just five spacious pitches, our wildflower meadow never feels crowded. Choose a quiet spot mown into tall grasses and flowers - perfect for watching butterflies drift by - or tuck your small tent into our secluded woodland clearing.

Snooze in a hammock. Wander winding paths. Uncover hidden corners and little bits of everyday magic here at Ffynnonwen.

If you're wanting to make a same-day booking for camping, give us a call as the booking system won't allow you to do it. If there's a pitch free then you're very welcome to come and set up! For all other bookings, please see our website.

The boring (but important) bits

We welcome children and dogs on leads (the dogs that is! The children can run free!) but ask you to be aware that we have ducks and occasionally sheep that can be easily scared.

The camping field is a car-free zone although you are able to drive onto the camping field to unload your car (we also have wheelbarrows to help if you need them!) before parking in the parking area. Pitches are 30 - 100m from the car park.

There is no electric hook-up on any of the pitches and no lighting except within the toilets - so bring a torch!

We do not allow radios or electronic music but would encourage you to bring instruments and a song to share around the camp fire (each pitch has its own fire pit).

Unfortunately our pitches aren't suitable for the super size tents (larger than 5m) and we are unable to accommodate caravans or large campervans. However, small campervans are very welcome. We do not have facilities to dispose of chemical toilets.
