The annual Ron Skilton Memorial Half Marathon & 12K returns to Llanwrtyd Wells on Sunday 18 October 2026. Organised by Green Events, the run is held in memory of Ron Skilton, a keen runner and cyclist who played an active part in the organisation for many years. Ron sadly passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in 2005, and the event continues to honour his memory while helping to raise funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Runners can choose between the Half Marathon, which is mainly off-road and approximately 13.25 miles, or the shorter 12K challenge. With Llanwrtyd Wells surrounded by mountainous Mid Wales countryside, participants can expect plenty of hills and varied terrain along with some impressive scenery. The routes are marked and marshalled throughout.

Registration takes place at the Neuadd Arms Hotel from 09:00 and the race starting at 10:00.

The event is open to participants aged over 16.
