Llandaff Cathedral - Open Doors 2025

About

There has been a Christian presence on this site from the time of Saint Teilo in the 6th century, and the present building dates from the Norman period, around 1120. The cathedral underwent three major upheavals and restorations before the devastation in 1941, which was caused by the explosion of a landmine outside the south aisle. This was followed by restoration in the 1950s under the architect, George Pace, and the addition of the St David, or Welch Regiment, Chapel.

For Open Doors, there will be school visits, and tours and demonstrations.

Booking strictly required for the tour of the Bell Tower. Please book through Pat Moore on 077 0485 3488. Maximum of twelve people on each of two tours. No children under the age of eight.

No other booking required - except for the Bell Tower tour.
