About

Llanfairfechan has a long sand and pebble beach and is popular for swimming as well as a range of water sports including kayaking, sailing, sea fishing, windsurfing and kite surfing. The beach is backed by a long promenade with shops and cafes alongside and the small town also has a boating lake and bowling green. The main North Wales railway line runs behind the beach. The coastal waters here are valued for their marine life and are designated as the Menai Strait and Conwy Special Area of Conservation. Nearby is the Traeth Lafan Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), a great place to spot wildfowl and waders. The town is the starting point for several footpaths into the surrounding hills which offer fine views of the Irish Sea, The Menai Strait and Anglesey.

Toilets, free parking. Dog restrictions apply to part of the beach May - end September.
