About

A large stretch of shingle beach situated on the north coast of Anglesey. It has a shingle ridge at the rear offering protection to an impressive salt water lagoon. The lagoon is an important habitat for wintering birds.

Cemlyn is managed by the Wildlife Trust as a nature reserve and is part of a National Trust Estate. Wardens are present on site 24 hrs a day from May to August and collect important data on the wildlife as well as answering any questions visitors may have.

Separated from the beach is a brackish lagoon, which is fed by a number of small streams. Cemlyn Bay is excellent for bass fishing, kayaking & birdwatching. The Anglesey Coastal Path passes through it but visitors are required to keep below the crest during the breeding season to avoid disturbance to the colony.

National Cycle Network Route 566 passes close to the bay.

Dogs are allowed.
