Craig y Nos Castle was voted The Nation's ‘Wedding Venue of the Year 2024’ Winner 

Set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, Craig-y-Nos Castle is the perfect location for your romantic and historic wedding in Wales.

Built in 1843, the Castle was once home to renowned opera singer Adelina Patti who sang privately for Queen Victoria. The Grade One listed opera house has a full weddings licence, providing couples with a unique and truly glorious venue for wedding ceremonies that cannot be surpassed in the whole of Wales.

Craig-y-Nos Castle and its grounds provide magnificent opportunities for photographs with stunning views over the country park, the River Tawe and our own listed gardens. Just imagine your wedding photographs showing you and your guests in such a beautiful setting, surrounded by history and romance.

Craig y Nos Castle offers a number of Wedding Packages set in the former home of opera diva Adelina Patti, starting with your Ceremony in the Grade I listed Theatre, Welcome Drinks in the Nici Lounge, a Wedding Breakfast in the Conservatory, and an Evening Reception in the Function Room. Options include affordable budget wedding packages and the WED VIP 2-day exclusive package for a truly unforgettable celebration.

We offer exclusive use, to the above rooms Welcome Drinks and your Wedding Breakfast.

We have a number of Options for Evening Buffets at the Castle or why not have a Hog Roast.

We have a number of Wedding Packages and offers for midweek and late availability dates.

Craig Y Nos Castle can sleep up to 75 guests in En Suite Rooms – we have En Suites, Family Rooms and Apartments along with a Gym to help you relax before the big day.

Seating up to 130/150 with outside seating available overlooking the rolling countryside.

From day 1 you have your own Wedding Planner to ensure your day runs smooth and they can help with wedding suppliers – from Venue Decorations to Chair Covers and beyond.

Road Directions

From the North:

Take the M5 motorway South to the M50. Follow the M50 to the end, near Ross on Wye, where it becomes the A40. Continue ahead, and after passing Monmouth go another six miles and then take the first junction after the service station, signed A40 Abergavenny. Follow the A40 until after a long straight section you approach a large roundabout near Abergavenny where you leave the A40 and continue straight ahead. This road is the A465, signed to Merthyr Tydfil.

Stay on the A465 for around 26 miles, passing the junction to Merthyr Tydfil, and continuing to the A4109 junction at Glyn Neath. Follow the A4109 through the traffic lights in GlynNeath and over the hill towards Abercrave. This becomes the A4221, but continues straight ahead until it drops down to the A4067 road. At the junction with the A4067 turn right and follow the road for four miles to Craig-y-Nos Castle, which is on the right.

From the South and the M4 Motorway:

Follow the A470 Northwards from junction No32 of the M4 motorway to the A 465 just beyond Merthyr Tydfil. Head West on the A465 continuing to the A4109 junction at Glyn Neath. Follow the A4109 through the traffic lights in GlynNeath and over the hill towards Abercrave. This becomes the A4221, but continues straight ahead until it drops down to the A4067 road. At the junction with the A4067 turn right and follow the road for four miles to Craig-y-Nos Castle, which is on the right.

Accessible by Public Transport: Swansea station is 20 miles away.
