Glanyrafon

About

Stay in a unique 18th Century woollen mill. Glanyrafon, which means next to the river, is furnished with a mixture of antiques, modern and vintage pieces and has WIFI, a smart TV and a large open plan living area with wood burner. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

While the mill wheel has long since been lost, the crystal clear Gwenlais mountain stream runs through the glorious garden which has mature oak and beech trees, formal and wild borders. Make the most of being in a dark skies area and enjoy the wood fired hot tub, filled with pure Welsh spring water, under the starry night sky.

Ground floor garden bedroom
Inside there is a bright ground floor garden bedroom with mountain views, under floor heating and its own outside access. It has a super king bed which can also be made up as a twin. There is a ground floor bathroom with luxurious double sized shower.

Upstairs suite with claw foot bath
Upstairs you’ll find a large suite, open ended to a private staircase, with double height ceilings and exposed beams. The triple aspect airy room has an elegant king-sized bed and views over the garden, stream and mountains beyond. The large en-suite bathroom has a claw foot bath with shower attachment.

Open plan living area with wood burner
Gather downstairs with friends and family to eat, play games, relax and reflect on the day in the large comfortable open plan living room with log burner and views over the garden and stream. The open plan kitchen in this unique cottage is well equipped with under floor heating, garden views, Stellar pans and a large fridge freezer.

Walks from the door
Enjoy walks and views of the Brecon Beacons National Park from the doorstep. Walk across Penstacan’s 70 acres or pack a picnic and take a stroll into the Cambrian Mountains on paths leading from our land. There are numerous waterfalls in the valley and we enjoy direct footpaths onto the mountain. Please note that the stream is not fenced off and children, dogs and adventurous adults are best supervised at all times.

Coast, castles, Victorian reservoirs, several National Trust properties and access to outdoor pursuits are all within an hour's drive.

There are two low doorways and a beam which you will need to duck underneath.
