Easter at Powis Castle

About

From 27 March to 12 April, little adventurers can follow the exciting Easter trail, stopping at 10 points along the way to take on a simple game, challenge, or hands-on activity. Designed to get everyone active outdoors it’s all about fresh air, fun, and friendly competition.

Go head-to-head with family and friends as you complete the ‘Time to Play’ clock challenge, score goals on the Great Lawn, balance along log steps, and race across hurdles and through the cone weave. Whether you’re racing, scoring, or stepping your way to success, there’s something for every age to enjoy.

After completing the trail, celebrate with a family photo at the special Easter selfie spot waiting near the finish line.

The trail takes place from 10am-4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm. Normal admission prices apply (free to National Trust members and under 5’s), plus £3.50 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.

(*Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies.)

Inside the castle at Easter

Inside the castle, we'll be 'Powering Up' the fun as we celebrate the start of our large-scale project to upgrade the wiring within this 13th century castle.

Explore the ornate State Rooms as you follow an interactive family trail with hard-hat dressing-up area, fun hands-on activities, and plenty of 'spot it' challenges along the way. It's guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained as you discover more about how we care for this majestic medieval castle now and into the future.

Discover the Dragons

Two friendly dragons have landed within the Wilderness, an informal woodland behind the main garden. Hop on to the saddles on their backs and let your imagination take you on a magical adventure. These magical Wyverns are here for everyone to play upon and enjoy.

This new addition to the garden has been skilfully created by the renowned local artist, Simon O’Rourke.
