About
We invite you to join us for a photographic day with No.5 ‘Midlander’ – the first time the diesel has ever been seen on a photo charter.
The day will begin at 9am at Tywyn Wharf Station, where the café will be open early from 8am for full breakfasts prior to departure.
‘Midlander’ will be taking us back to the 1960s! In the quieter winter months, the occasional passenger working ran on Fridays. This was ‘Midlander’’s train – consisting of Carriage 17 from the Corris Railway and Van 5, it bumbled up and down the railway between Pendre and Brynglas. On this occasion, the train will run again! From Pendre to Brynglas – and beyond!
Fifty years on from the completion of the extension between Abergynolwyn & Nant Gwernol – the mineral only line being converted into a passenger running line – we aim to take you back in time on a unique recounting run. ‘Midlander’, with tipper waggons and a heritage van in tow will run up and down the extension for photographs and video – we also aim to demonstrate the loading and unloading of material for interpretation and a rather unique set of shots!
And if that wasn’t enough, the Corris set will reunite with ‘Midlander’ for an evening shoot at Pendre.
We hope you can join us for this full day experience!
