From newbies to experienced astronomers, all are invited to join the Elan Valley Astronomy Group at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre.
The evening will start with an August to September "guide to the skies", followed by a talk on meteors and meteorites.
Tonight should see the maximum of the Perseid Meteor shower, usually one of the best showers of the year. With the Moon being almost New and "out of the way" so to speak, if skies are clear, we will hold a Meteor observing session in the VC grounds. Anyone who wishes to take part in this, please bring along - Folding chair/recliner, pencil, red light torch, and plenty of warm clothing!!!!!
