Heart of Wales by Rail via Swansea - Day 5

Friday - The final day of the tour. Our itinerary today is to spend the morning in Knighton and the catch the 14.58 train back to Swansea - 18.14 arrival. If you need to return earlier, there is a four hour gap between trains so take the 11.01 service which will reach Swansea at 14.20.

Alternatively, there is a 12.41 train from Knighton to Shrewsbury (arrives 13.33) with connections arriving in Cardiff at 15.42 or London Euston 16.13.

Time to explore the town this morning and time for a walk? You couldn’t be in a better place!

Knighton is positioned at about the halfway point of the Offa's Dyke Path National Trail and at the start of the Glyndwr's Way National Trail - but there is also a wide range of shorter walks that radiate from the town. The Offa’s Dyke Centre will be able to provide you with all the details.

An interactive exhibition at the Offa’s Dyke Centre allows you to learn about the Dyke and its construction, the Welsh Princes of the Anglo-Saxon period and the history of Knighton and the border area in general.

The Offa's Dyke Centre is the number one port of call for everything to do with Offa's Dyke, the National Trail and Welsh border region.
