Ceri Forest is a coniferous forest which sits astride the Kerry Ridgeway in the uplands of Montgomeryshire.

 

An upland conifer woodland planted during the mid to late 1970s. The Kerry Ridgeway long distance footpath runs through the forest and is ideal for family walks & bike rides along its flat hilltop route. OS Grid Reference: SO165866

 

The Dyfi Biosphere is part of a network of UNESCO 'Biosphere Reserves' throughout the world where information and experiences can be shared and new ideas explored. Others include the Central Amazon, Niagara Escarpment and Gran Canaria!

There is plenty else to find on this 1200 acre reserve which takes in the summit of Fan Frynach. Over 500 different plants have been recorded as well as 80 species of birds.

 

The whole Reserve is made up of three parts: Cors Fochno, an internationally important peat bog; Dyfi Estuary, an internationally important feeding ground for thousands of wading birds and the beach and sand dunes of Ynyslas.
