Your journey offers the chance to learn more about the inspirational story of how a small group of dedicated people discovered a little railway, lost in time, about to be forgotten, and decided it needed to survive. Their ingenuity and determination has made The Talyllyn Railway what it is today.

The experienced guide will travel on the train throughout the the journey, pointing out interesting features and answering questions.

This tour includes an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the engine works at Pendre.

Make your journey extra special and book a hamper to take with you on the train. Your hamper will include a sandwich, salad pot, yoghurt, sausage roll, crisps and a bottle of water. All locally sourced. You can also add a 200ml bottle of Prosecco to celebrate your journey!

The train departs Tywyn Wharf at 11am and arrives back at Tywyn Wharf at 3.22pm where you will be served a Welsh Cream Tea in King’s Licensed Cafe and taken on a guided tour of the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum. The full experience lasts around 5 hours.

Gift Shop - a wide range of gifts, books, models and souvenirs at Tywyn Wharf station. The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum - Free museum at Tywyn Wharf telling the story of the narrow gauge railways of Wales and beyond. Quarryman's Caban - tea rooms at Abergynolwyn station, open when train are running. Most trains take a 20-30 minute break here. Railway car parks at Tywyn Wharf (£1 )and Abergynolwyn (£1). There is a privately owned car park at Dolgoch Falls (charges).
