The Llandysul and Pont-Tyweli Walkers Welcome group have come together to organise a walking weekend for the whole family which will be held during last weekend of September. 2024 details to folllow....

2023 Walks included:

Guided Historical Walk: River, Road, and Rail Exploration Embark on Walk 1: "River, Road, and Rail," a captivating guided historical walk around Pont-Tyweli. Commence your journey at 5.45pm by assembling at the Llandysul Paddlers location (///nametag.after.deeply), with the walk set to commence at 6pm. The route follows a path bordering the Paddlers lake, which might present some mudiness if recent rain has fallen. There's a brief uphill section before transitioning to road and pavement pathways. Your adventure concludes at the Half Moon, where supper awaits. Secure your supper reservation directly with the Half Moon at 01559 363338. The Gwyddil Valley: A Journey Along an Ancient Parish Boundary For Walk 4, "The Gwyddil Valley: An Ancient Parish Boundary," gather at the Llandysul car park (SA44 4QS or ///commuting.yachting.soulful) at 10am. Minibus transport to the starting point is provided; kindly note that no dogs are allowed on the bus. Commence your walk with a historical exploration of the Coetan Samson chamber and cairns, progressing to Hebron Chapel. Traverse paths and fields, which may be damp underfoot. Follow the Gwyddil Valley, eventually descending to the Afon Tyweli and the disused railway track, culminating back at the Llandysul car park. This 6-mile trek offers moderate difficulty. Woodland, Hill Fort, Trig Point, and Riverside Excursion Join Walk 5, a captivating journey encompassing Woodland, an Iron Age hill fort, Trig point, and a Riverside walk. Commencing and concluding at 10am at Penrhiw Farm (SA44 4PG or ///extreme.louder.packages) in Capel Dewi, Llandysul, this expedition highlights Coed-Foel Woodland Trust, Pencoedfoel Summit, the Teifi Riverside Walk, and a return through Llanfair Woods. Due to livestock on private farmland, no dogs are allowed. The terrain features undulating landscapes, covering approximately 6 miles with a moderate level of difficulty. Children's Animal Adventure Walk: A Delightful Exploration for Young Adventurers Commence Walk 2, a Children's Animal Adventure Walk, commencing at Llandysul car park (SA44 4QS or ///commuting.yachting.soulful) at 10am. Delight in a lighthearted and interactive stroll through Llandysul's captivating Memorial Park, where young participants can engage with local wildlife and some special animal guests. Evening Social Gathering: BBQ & Bingo at Y Porth Join us for an enjoyable evening at Y Porth on Church St, Llandysul SA44 4QS, commencing at 7pm. Embrace the lively atmosphere as we come together for a barbecue and bingo event. Everyone is warmly welcomed to partake in this social gathering.

Tregroes and Cwm Cerdin Exploration with Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd Engage in Walk 3: "Tregroes a Cwm Cerdin" in collaboration with Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd. Begin by meeting or parking at Ysgol Tregroes School (SA44 4NN or ///unheated.ruling.streak) at 10am. Covering around 5-6 miles, the route includes elevation changes from Dyffryn Llynod to Llain, progressing to Blaen Pantau and then descending past Pen Y Graig and Geginan before returning to Tregroes. Some portions of the route might be damp. Note that dogs are not allowed, and consider bringing snacks and drinks. This walk is conducted in Welsh and is suitable for learners of all abilities. Guide Prices

Walks are priced at £4 per person per walk booked in advance or £5 on the day. Children under 16 are free. The price of walks covers all
administration and transport where necessary.
