Details
Llangynllo (or Llangunllo) is a small village on the B4356 some 6 miles west of Knighton; it lies on the River Lugg, a tributary of the Wye. The village is named after St Cynllo, a 5th Century princeling-turned-saint and the village church is one of only six to be dedicated to him; the church was completely rebuilt in 1878-96. The long-distance footpath Glyndwr’s Way passes through the parish.
Llangynllo has a small station about 1.5 miles north of the village on the Heart of Wales line which runs from Shrewsbury to Swansea.
