Travelling on the Vale of Rheidol Railway is the finest way to explore the stunning Rheidol Valley. Opened in 1902, the railway has been delighting passengers young and old for over a century.

At the Vale of Rheidol Railway station in Devil’s Bridge a booking office and small souvenir and gift shop is located on the platform also the Two Hoots Café which serves a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks. There are picnic areas in the station yard. Toilets are situated in the station car park; however baby changing facilities are located in the municipal toilets, which is a few minutes’ walk up the road directly opposite the entrance.

A short walk from the station is the Hafod Hotel with a lovely bar and brasserie serving hot and cold meals and cream teas and is situated only steps away from the World Famous Devil’s Bridge waterfalls.

The Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls are not visible from the road. It is located 5-10 minutes from the station, down a small hill. The main waterfalls are viewed via a steep path that includes a 100 step stone staircase at the bottom, for a magnificent view of the falls (recommended time 45 minutes).

An alternative walk is the Devil’s Punchbowl, which is about 10-15 minutes duration. It takes you to a point below the bridge to admire the gorge itself. Both walks have flights of steps and some steep sections, although the bridge and gorge can be viewed from the top of the Punchbowl walk without having to negotiate the steps.

Sarah Bunton’s Chocolates at Y Caban is situated across the road from the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway station. Watch professional chocolatiers creating award winning handmade chocolates and fudge in their chocolate workshop. Here you will be able to find a self-indulging treat or chocolates for any occasion.

For non-gift aid, prices are £23.60, £10.00, £37.00 & £55.00 respectively.

Devil's Bridge is located on the A4120 (Aberystwyth - Ponterwyd) road. It is in close proximity to the A44 (from the east) and the A487 coast road at Aberystwyth.

The nearest mainline railway station is at Aberystwyth; however the Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge railway terminates in Devil's Bridge.
