Newtown/Y Drenewydd railway station is on the Cambrian Line from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth; most trains run from/to Birmingham International. The station is located at the south side of the town off the A483 at the MacDonald’s roundabout; the postcode is SY16 1BP.

The ticket office is closed permanently. Purchase  ticket from the ticket machine / on train.

Live Departure screens. Car parking no charge for passengers - 20 spaces; 7 cycle storage hoops.

  • Disabled access - Step Free Access - Category B2. Step free access to Platform 1 (to Shrewsbury) from the car park. Step free access to Platform 2 (to Aberystwyth and Pwllheli) via Brimmon Lane. There is a camber at the end of the lane leading onto the platform and is not suitable for wheelchair or mobility scooter users. Access between the platforms is via a footbridge with steps.
