About

This section of route 82 heads South towards Aberystwyth but the route is still under construction. Beyond Aberystwyth the route heads along the old railway line towards Tregaron and Lampeter. The route finishes in Fishguard.

The route beyond Aberystwyth joins cycle route 81 along the old Carmarthen-Aberystwyth railway line. This is largely traffic free, before heading into Tregaron. Beyond Tregaron and Lampeter the route follows the B4343 and B4337 roads which are both fairly quiet roads.

Heading through Ceredigion Westwards towards Fishguard along the Teifi Valley. Beyond Cardigan and the Teifi Valley the routh comes close to the coastline before heading into the town of Fishguard. Connections to cycle routes 4 and 47 can be made here.

Observation by cyclists:
Ystwyth Trail sustrans 82 Traffic-Free section, south of Tynygraig
Many parts are overgrown with long grass, etc. with the possibility of grass in the derailleur/chain. In many sections, there is only a narrow strip without grass. There are also drainage ditches across the trail, which cause bumps – these are typically hidden because of the grass. Passing oncoming bikes is problematic. Also, not suitable for a disabled rider using a trike.
