The Brecnoc Access group have assesd the site. The Drawing room, Restaurant and Reception are on the Ground floor with a 6 inch step into the Conservatory at the rear of the building. The building is floodlit from dusk until 11.30pm and reflected light illuminates the front car park. there are designated parking spaces and one disabled car space close to the main entrance. All Fire Alarms are Audio able to 75 dec. at bed head as per national requirements. Any person hard of hearing wil be noted in registration details which are also used for emergency evacuation. Should a reservation enquiry be made by telephone or in person, requiring full disabled facilities, then a referral will be made to a local hospitality provider with ground floor access and full facilities. The entrance access to the front porch is via level tarmac path. Doors being of 800mm width. Public payphone in front entrance porch with hard of hearing facility and instructions in five languages. this is at Wheelchair height and additional seating is provided. Reception desk is at Wheelchair height and a chair can be provided if required. There is good room for Wheelchair access. Any visually impared guests will be verbally advised of the bottom step of the stairs and assistance can be given. drawing room leads off from Reception and doors min of 80cm with 2cm step. room is suitable for Wheelchairs. Restaurant also same widths and suitable for Wheelchair access. menus can be printed on yellow card with black text for the visually impared or spoken if desired. The Toilets are located on the first floor and there are No Lifts to this floor (this has been assessed and no suitable alternative was found on ground floor). Assistance can be given on advice of booking should this be required to gain access to the first floor. The bedrooms are located on the first and second floors with wide landings to break the stairs and no long corridors. Allb edrooms are light and spacious and en-suite. There are Fire instructions on the doors and beside the bed in each room. some are printed on yellow card for the partially sighted. Green room has a very low bath with good grip handles. The power plugs in this room are also at waist level. This is especially suitable room for those of advanced age. In the bathrooms, the baths are fitted with anti slip devices however, non slip mats and hand rails can be provided if requested. The Green room bath has frip handles and low sides. We will endeavour to place all persons with a medical condition or access restriction on the first floor. However, this will depend on availabiltiy.
