Aberdovey is situated in the south western corner of the Snowdonia National Park, and is well known for its mild climate, relaxing atmosphere, sandy beaches, water sports, golf course and magnificent surrounding countryside. The village is without doubt the jewel of Cardigan Bay, as well as being one of the finest coastal resorts in Wales. Aberdovey and the surrounding area is often referred to as the 'artist's paradise'.

The picturesque village has pastel colour-washed cottages, a number of small shops, inns, as well as being renowned for its excellent restaurants with local seafood a speciality. For golfing enthusiasts there is a championship links golf course rated in the top 100 in the UK. Sailing and water sports are also all very popular, with the thriving Dovey Yacht Club holding numerous yachting regattas during the year. Excellent river and sea fishing is available, with the opportunity to take boat fishing trips out in to Cardigan Bay.
