For this year's carnival, we are planning a one-day event with parade and fancy dress, to be held on Saturday, 27th July 2013. We then hope to build on this in subsequent years to create a bigger, better event, with the aim of re-establishing the carnival as a permanent, popular fixture of the town's calendar as it used to be. This can only happen with the enthusiasm, support and commitment of as many local dignitaries, businesspeople and residents as possible.

Colourful floats will parade through the town on carnival day. We are also encouraging people to walk in the procession in fancy dress. Prizes will be awarded for the best floats and fancy dress.
