About

Section 3 - Llangrannog to New Quay

Arguably the most spectacular part of the Ceredigion Coast Path this section is Heritage Coast and includes the iconic Ynys Lochtyn the outline of which is used on our Coast Path logo.

Llangrannog to Cwm Tydu
Distance 9.4km (5.9 miles), grade - moderate
Not only does this section run past Ynys Lochtyn but it also includes a stunning path cut directly into the coastal slope (top right). An alternative inland route which runs through a beautiful wooded cwm has also been provided and this also serves to provide an excellent circular walk.

Cwm Tydu to New Quay
Distance 5.6km (3.5 miles, grade - moderate
This section crosses Cwm Soden, an excellent area to view coastal geology with some extreme examples of folded rock formations being clearly visible (far left). It also runs past the former coastguard lookout at Birds Rock which is a great area for spotting both marine wildlife and seabirds.
