Corris Mine Explorers
Discover the virtually untouched, abandoned workings of an old Welsh slate mine.
Get kitted out with a miner's helmet, cap lamp and safety clips before you make the short walk to the mine entrance.
With your eyes adjusting to the darkness you will follow the route of entry tapped out by the earliest miners way back in 1836. See the primitive tools and the machinery which was used.
Discover relics left behind by the miners including candles, pipes and even a packet of cigarettes and hear about their tough working conditions.
See how the mining methods (and working conditions) changed across the years. Be shocked as stark comparisons come to light when you discover parts of the mine worked just before it closed in the early 1970's.
A part of this old mine is used as an impressive theatrical backdrop for a seperate attraction King Arthur's Labyrinth. Get an exclusive "behind the scenes tour".
This is a completely awe-inspiring experience and definitely not to be missed... Choose the 1 1/2 hour Taster Tour or the Half Day Exploration.
Taster Tour: £15
Half Day Exploration: £30
Note: Children must be aged at least 11 for the Taster Tour and 13 for the Half Day Exploration and, up to the age of 18, must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
